i just saw a trans dude like My Age say some shit like “im a trans man and im bisexual so theoretically i could date women but then i would be subjecting them to having to date a man and i dong want anyone to suffer that much” and ive seen so many similar videos on my fyp from trans boys so if ur a trans boy reading this i love u its okay to be a man. ur not a monster ur great transitioning wont make you abusive or anything i promise its okay to be a man

“Being a man makes you Contaminated In Some Way and women having romantic contact with men are Suffering” is radfem koolaid.

Draining and paving wetlands is just about one of the worst ideas ever. When water can disperse along a winding waterway into soft soil it slows it’s movement way down. Slow water deposits sediment instead of eroding it. Plants can grow in it that clean the water and trap more sediment. That increased soil absorbs and slows extra water when there’s a larger rain than usual and buffers the effects of even torrential storms.

Fast, straight waterways remove soil, and don’t give water a chance to soak in. Often insult is added to injury by paving and armoring the banks (ostensibly to reduce erosion) removing any possibility of absorbing and slowing extra water. Any increase in precipitation upstream means a higher water level. A storm means catastrophic flooding.

Draining wetlands doesn’t make more “usable” land, it sets the stage for tragedies.

I’m sorry but I can’t help but find people who try to visit uncontacted tribes and get subsequently murdered a little bit morbidly funny. What did you THINK would happen…

“The uncontacted peoples of the Getthefuckout Islands, known primarily for firing incessant volleys of arrows at any vessel that gets too close, will surely welcome our missionaries with open arms.”

I also think it’s really funny that the only groups to successfully contact the people North Sentinel Islands were extremely polite Indian anthropologists. Madhumala Chattopadhyay and a team of anthropologists had multiple instances of peaceful contact with the tribe, because–hold onto your hats–the anthropologists respected them, offered food and goods (coconuts and iron), and left when told to leave.

image

Additionally, Chattopadhyay came to the conclusion that–don’t be shocked!–further contact of these tribes was neither necessary nor helpful. She was quoted by National Geographic in saying:

“The tribes have been living on the islands for centuries without any problem. Their troubles started after they came into contact with outsiders. The tribes of the islands do not need outsiders to protect them; what they need is to be left alone.”

To any would-be John Chaus out there whose desire to preach to the “godless tribes” overrides their survival instinct, please take a note from the people with actual experience relating to the Sentinelese and don’t go there.

An gentle, giant tree has fallen
and risen as a light in the heavens.

Rest in power, rest in peace Thich Nhat Hanh…. who has returned to the Divine realm. Inna lilah wa inna ilayhi raji'un.

The gentle and wise Vietnamese Buddhist monk has been for decades one of the lights of this world. Martin Luther King, jr., nominated him for Nobel Peace Prize, calling him “an apostle of peace and nonviolence.”…

Such a reminder that we are living in the shade of giants…

Here is one of the teachings that has touched my heart: Thay (as he was lovingly known to his students) recommends that we ask those closest to us: “Please tell me how I can love you better.”

Let us practice asking this from our loved ones…

May we honor him by recognizing that “We are here to awaken from the illusion of our separateness.”
